Definitions of Mentor
The word “Mentor” come from the greek and has it’s roots in the term steadfast and enduring. In the western culture, the term “mentor” is synonymous woth someone who is a wise teacher, a guide, a friend.
A mentor has the ability to encourage another person and to reduce their passivity
A mentor says “I am here for you”.
Even a thought a mentor can be a role-model, a true mentor doesn’t ask another person “be like me”. A mentor says, “I will help you become who you want”.
Mentoring is “the significant contribution from a person to another one in other to help the transition of the one of them in terms of knowledge, professional experience and way of thinking.” - ( Megginson & Clutterbuck, 1995)
